01 JUL 2011 FRI - BALI - 6. Durian, Spa, Bebek Bengil (Dirty Duck)

we wanna try the bali durian, asked yoman to recommend... so yoman stopped here (near his kampong)...

yoman choosing and bargaining for the best durian for us:

rp30k (about S$4.40)

haha i looked so 贪吃:
um... the durian not as nice as ours... not 'fragrant' enough... rather light compared to ours... won't 'stink' your fingers... i prefer our dark yellow bitter one :)

group pic taken by the lady durian seller... st took quite a while to show her how to take the pic... a bit blur but good enough :)

see she so cute... keep looking at st instead of the camera... camera shy?:

she must be puzzled why we take pic with her hahaha... we enjoy getting close to the locals when traveling:

we asked yoman to recommend spa, he made reservation for us at 5:30pm at 'sand spa' which is very near to the dirty duck restaurant... so no problem for us to head there on our own... he dropped us at our guesthouse at around 4pm... we had tea at our balcony before strolling to the 'sand spa'... um... today no fresh flowers on our tea table :(

dropped by bebek bengil (dirty duck) restaurant to try our luck to make reservation for the signature smoked duck for tonight... we were lucky :) paid rp50k deposit...

day view of the bebek bengil restaurant:

most of the huts are reserved... we picked this 26b... the one on the right with blue cushions:

are we eating this kind of duck or those white-feathered one? isn't this 'yuan yang'?

hahaha we walked up and down the street looking for 'sand spa'... can't find lei... asked people (about 3 people i think) they said near dirty duck and pointed the direction to us.... but we still can't find lei... then saw the zen spa sign board, tried walking in to ask... hahaha our reservation is with Zen Spa not sand spa.... but they pronounced it sand spa lor

we tried:

mandi lulur-floral bath 1h45min rp150k (about S$22)
17th century javanese royal treatment, a traditional body massage followed by a body scrub with turmeric, sandal wood and rice powder, an exfoliation of yoghurt to eliminate toxins and a fragrant blossom bath.

hibiscus hair shampoo 30min rp60k (about S$9)
before the arrival of shampoo, indonesians used this special recipe to keep their hair healthy. our treatment includes a scalp and neck/shoulder massage.

before the spa treatment:

ginger tea & fruits served next to the 'pool' after the massage and scrub:

alamak... my stomach got so much 'wind' (must be the effect of the ginger & lemongrass drinks) wanna putt putt when she massaged my abdomen...
not long after i relaxed in the blossom bath, i wanna putt putt... so i did not get to enjoy the bath, gotto quickly dress up to go toilet lol... but the bath not so nice also... not 'jacuzzi pool' lor :)

on the whole the massage technique is good... the massage points and strength are just nice... would recommend a longer massage period without the bath... for a even value for money deal...

btw they don't provide hair shampoo and conditioner, only have soap no bath gel... so do bring along yours...

i usually bring along the following so as to make my spa session an enjoyable one:
-hair shampoo and conditioner (never like those provided by the spa because my hair always got entangled)
-facial foam and whatever cream for the face (never come across a spa that provides such... maybe those really expensive ones do provide... once ended up all rejuvenated but face still 'weary'... so learnt the lesson)
-contact lenses case with saline and my glasses
after the bath, i was telling st:
'if you not 嫌弃 can use my facial regime... i have sk2 miracle water
(my sk2 miracle water in the clear bottle with light blue color sprayer)

i paused... then total silence and we both broke into laughters....
she said: 'walau sk2 miracle water i still 嫌弃 meh?'
hahaha actually the miracle water one big bottle lasted me a year... so still value for money lor :)

the hair shampoo treatment nothing special, not worth trying... but at least our hair blown dry lor

nice ambience:

did we look rejuvenated after the treatment? lol:

this is the sign board at the road side, the spa is hidden inside:

around 8:30pm, we were at bebek bengil (dirty duck) restaurant...

... enjoying the signature smoked duck feast:

the serving is definitely too huge for us:

the 'opened' smoked duck with lots of spices... we prefer this smoked duck than yesterday crispy duck:
btw we ate really very slowly trying hard to finish everything but we failed to finish all lor, total bill rp216k (about S$32)

after the relaxing spa treatment... we enjoyed our dinner at the cosy corner... chit-chatting almost on anything... for so long we haven't have such relaxing and non-rushing moment... i heart it :)

btw... st, this pic for you since you like this pic of me with my 'bf'... hahaha i miss his 'edelweiss'...
(st kept pressing the wrong button of my 'camera' that landed her on the wallpaper... she kept saying your bf again lol...)
