10 APR 2006 MON (A) - NEPAL, KATHMANDU

Curfew 11am-6pm
6:31am We woke up early so as to avoid the curfew, if any. (The notice was only available on that day morning,) This Bakery is opposite The Kathmandu Guest House at Thamal which is about 20min walk from Hotel Harati where we're putting up at. Yummy my favourite bread..., we tried the pineapple bread (both my favourite), very nice!
7:03am On our way back to Hotel Harati for the same buffet breakfast and meeting Sarkee at 8am. ST posing in front of a stall selling Masala Milk Tea. The locals usually take this for breakfast.

8am Sarkee trying to make arrangement for us to fly to Pokhara and we dashed to nearby internet shop to send internet sms'es. (No mobile network during curfew)

9:30am This is the shop where I managed to send out 2 internet sms'es, 1 email and MSN for 10minutes within 1 hour. REALLY SLOW! Paid RS15 (about S$0.40). Went back to Hotel Harati, Sarkee managed to get flight tickets for us to fly to Pokhara, departing from hotel at 11am. Curfew from 11am, so we went out again... 10:19am Guess what's happening opposite this...
10:19am "Blockade" by Moaist... blazed wooden planks & tyres.
10:21am Policemen arriving soon...
10:22am Policemen taking control of situation...
10:23am Policemen putting out the blaze...

11am (Curfew 11am-6pm) On our way to the airport, we could see that the shops were closed, policemen patrolling, vehicle check-point,... The drama queen inside me had this feeling that we were fleeing to a safe place just like those war show hahaha... 12:25pm Boarding Buddha Air for Pokhara.
Cotton wool (for our ears) and sweet issued before take off.
